Following the Tour de France with the family
We want to follow the tour de France in 2006 - 2 adults and 2 small children. Any suggestions about how best to do this, had thought about renting a touring van? If anyone has done this kind of thing would welcome your recommendations and advise about what not to do also.

I don't know about following it, but I have read that some of those wackos you see on the sides of the road during the climbing stages have camped there for several days. Camped, partied, drank, and waited. It kind of explains the behavior of running beside a rider with nothing on except a pair of shorts, shaking their fist, and screaming at the top of their lungs.
