fitday.com question

I just signed up sunday on fitday.com so far it's pretty interesting. How many of you use this site? I'd like to get some feedback from someone who has used this successfully for a while.

I've been using their PC Software since July 1 and I think it's fantastic. I can keep good stats on my exercise plus calorie intake and it has helped a great deal with weight loss. I'm a computer programmer and this is exactly what I'd have written for myself if there was enought time. For $29.95 you can't beat it.

I actually prefer the online version, because then I can access it when I'm in europe on vacation, or visiting family during the holidays.

Be sure to include sleep in your daily activities, the program assumes you're awake 24/7.

I have been using it for the past 6 months and it has been a huge help in keeping up with my food intake.

Do you guys use this program primarily to just track daily calorie intake for the purpose of weight loss/control? Or is there another purpose?

I use it to track calorie intake and I like the journal feature so I can keep track of my workouts and mileage.

I use it to make sure I'm eating enough for maximum fitness-improvement rate along with weight-loss. I've been targetting a 1.5-lb/wk weight-loss rate and it's really easy to not eat enough with the rides I'm doing. That ends up causing a 2.0-lb/wk weight-loss with the extra 1/2-lb coming from losing muscle not fat. Which ends up limiting how fast I can improve my fitness and speed on the bike. So I have to make sure I'm eating enough so that my body's not taking apart muscle during the recovery after the ride.

I've been using it for about half a year now, too. It really helped me modify my diet to the point where I feel like I'm really eating right. Lost 30 pounds over the past four months, too. Lately I've been skipping days because I've gotten such a good idea of how much I'm taking in, but I do try to be diligent about it.

I discovered fitday.com two years ago.

I first used it to track portions and calories, then I started paying attention to protein and fat intake. Now, I also pay attention to nutrients . . . sodium, zinc, potassium, etc.

When I am losing weight, it's usually because my calorie intake is around what is listed as my BMR.

Lots of fun sidebars that allow you to do extra things like input your goal weight and goal date, journal entries, etc. These I usually forget about because my time is limited.
