2006 Khs F20-R (!)

https://www.selectit.jp/item_bike/xbfold0033.html

A friend of mine stumbled across that link. Seems KHS isn't letting the grass grow under their feet!
The new hinge resembles something Dahon would do - parallelogram-ish or forward locking at least.

I can't quite make it out in the photos but it almost seems like they've gone with another Dahon-ish idea: a tapered, telescoping handle-bar stem.

BTW: if you like KHS folders, "Santa Fe Bikes" may be able to hook you up! "wpflem" on BikeForums represent SFBikes and their website is: https://sfbikes.com/ (I have no affiliation BTW)

I see what you mean...maybe it's just the angle of the photo...

AF,

it seems that you and I will not stop untill we go to Japan with about US$5000.00 and get all the toys we want uh...

I have the MR20 lite on my list of dream toys. It doesn't make anything different than my current Halfway (actually, it folds WORSE than the halfway), I will not put any extra miles/week if/when I have it.....BUT I WANT IT.

I think it is the angle and shading.

@ Rafael: ha ha, i know what you mean but that leads to the dark side! The lure is strong...

Heheheheheh.

FWIW, I tried to contact KHS Japan something like 6-months ago (waaaaay before SFBikes met them at the tradeshow and developed a rapport).

They finally got back to me a week ago and said something to the effect of "you would have to buy them by the shipping container - about 200 bikes." LOL! Uh, no. I was sort of thinking "1 bike" thanks...

When I look at what was available 10 years ago for folders, the market has BOOMED. Multimode transport with bus, train and bike is a fact of life for many people.

Having options rocks. Lovin' my KHS. Thinking of something like a Dahon Piccolo as a "beater" for times when "bike" isn't my primary mode of transport. (bus downtown, roll a few blocks to shop, get back on bus home)

Well, off to shop for bike gear! Buddy of mine wants some SPD pedals and lights, we're gonna track down some folders in this area. (there are a couple of Dahons, a Halfway and a Norco Origami)

TTYS all!
Chris
