I don't have a true "before" picture. My highest weight was about 415. This pic was taken in May 2007, 395 lbs. I'm at 383 now, really started focusing in early June. Next pic will be me on my bike!

Your bike looks really* compact. You should post this in the other thread and see what the guys have to say.

LOL!! No, that's at meteor crater, went there earlier this summer on my way to the Grand Canyon. NW Ark isn't QUITE that steep

I’ve been lurking a couple of weeks including a few posts; mostly to this forum and the 50+ forum since I’m pushing 67 (Dang, that can’t be right!!)

My weight was going in the right direction after my quadruple bypass surgery and subsequent cardiac rehab in late 2005 and early 2006. Sorry to confess I’ve regained most of my weight and hope I’ve topped out at 250 lbs (I’m probably 5’-8 or 9”).

I hope to start a combo biking/walking program soon for obvious reasons but probably won’t start ‘til another surgery to improve circulation in my right leg.

My plan is to dust off my old Trek 700 hybrid for road runs and my old Worksman newspaper boy for trips to the grocery store and cruising the hood.

Ever the optimist, I’ve already ordered upgrade and improvement items for both bikes and look forward to sharing with this group.

Is that a regular backpack on your bike? That is so* convenient. There's no way to put saddlebags on a bent, is there? You can't go get groceries somehow?

That's a seatback bag for a 'bent, it looks like.

By the way, there are panniers racks for a bent that hang them under the seat as well. or there's the solution I came up with for Crazylady's bent....


The previous solution, a single pannier. The upper pic is a huge improvement!

That is so* cool. I love to see bikes set up to do things. I've been kinda having my eye on those dutch cargo bikes for a dog, but I think the bikes themselves look a little piggy....

No, it's actually a regular backpack. This is what I wore when riding my DF. I cut the shoulder straps and added clips, so I can remove it for cleaning and maintenance. It has a pocket for my camelback envelope, a big pocket for my tools, spare tubes etc... and a smaller pocket for my wallet, phone and sunscreen. I do have saddlebags for my bike, but I don't have the pictures on this computer. When I get home I will add the photos. I do alot of errands on my bent and I have gone to get groceries, albeit not much.

Yep, I set it up with a standard rear rack. It works pretty well and allows crazylady to tour, run errands, commute, whatever! Racks for a Delta config trike are few and far between! I had to do the USMC thing, improvise, adapt, and overcome!

Looks like a good job! I thought it was a purpose specific bag made for a 'bent.

Tom, I think it was one of your posts that caused me to get this bag, actually. It's a good bag but a pain to mount on the rack with panniers. Have you found better way to mount it that threading the velcro through the rack?

No, I haven't! Be glad you aren't trying to mount it with the commuter saddlebag panniers! It's doable but a major pain! That's why the wife got my hook mount Trek Panniers to go with it since I've gone to a trailer for touring anyhoo!!
