Any geniuses built alternative bikes (trikes, recumbents etc.) from scratch

At school, we are currently building a recumbent bike for a competition in Melbourne. We designed the frame, welded the tubes, etc. We did a horribly shoddy job, but judging by some stuff made on this subforum, I'm sure theres some much more experienced people.

Any geniuses built recumbents, trikes, bikes that don't even have a name, etc all the way down from choosing material, designing and welding the frame, and putting on all the components.

Pictures please.

They have a home builders thread in the forums on bentrideronline.com , it's a recumbent only forum but truck loads of useful info there.

My own design recumbent, unfinished, seems I keep getting distracted by shiney things.

I built two recumbent trikes mainly from ideas I found here: https://www.ihpva.org/people/tstrike/home.htm
My trikes were based on the Short Wheel Base Tadpole Style Trike designs on that site, but I used 26in wheels all around. I can post pictures of my trikes if you'd like.

I also used to participate in the "Great Moonbuggy Race" when I was in college, we used to build folding tandem recumbent off road HPVs from scratch. Some info here: https://moonbuggy.msfc.nasa.gov/
