Don't listen to your doctor, they don't know ****. Get on your bike, try and ride. If you hear a crack/pop at some point, then you can stop riding. But, Unitll then...

well I have a 6" long cut that is 2" or 2-1/2" deep and the the 8 stitches on the outside got removed today and i still have 16 under the skin. if i fell on it and opened it they will have to do all this confusing stuff, this doctor went on for about an hour about why it would be bad if it opened. i went out on my bike yesterday and fell on it and it hurt so bad.

I agree. Something that deep needs a little time to heal up before you test the waters with how far you can push it. But spring time? Wow that's a bit long in my opinion...but hey I'm no Doc.
