NY'ers: wanted, west side bike shops
Hello all, I live up in the Riverdale section of the Bronx and commute occasionally down the Hudson River Trail. What I would like to know is if anyone knows of bikes shops along that route in case something happens on trips that can't be fixed on the spot. I know of Sids well now it is Tread bike shop on 230th/Broadway and their second shop @ 225 Dyckman st. near the end of the river trail. After that all I know of is Gotham Bikes on W. Broadway/ Reade St. and Canal St. bikes on 6th Ave./Canal St. What i need now is a list of shops in between near the Hudson River -- Thanks.

Metro
231 W 96th St, 663-7531
1311 Lexington Ave, 427-4450
360 W 47th St, 581-4500
546 Ave of the Americas
Bicycle Renaissance
430 Columbus Ave, 724-2350
There are plenty of others.
Get a copy of that free bicycle map at any random store that has them in stock.
I saw some in the window at the Dyckman Tread this Evening.
There is a list of bikeshops in there.

yeah, the cycling map shows all the shops in the whole city. that will be helpful.
i live right by the tread on dyckman. they are fairly decent and will get you in while you wait if you have something that needs to get done by a mech.....but, if you have anything that can wait, i'd let it wait until you have a good mechanic. i'm not so sure they are the best in there....

also,
further downtown, A Bicycle Shop is on 14th St. and 9th Ave,
not as close to the river, but not that far, either.
