DURA ACE 7600 crank on DA 7610 bottom bracket
I just scored this nice Dura-Ace NJS groupo but the BB is a DA 7610 and the crank is DA 7600.
I threw them on but they don't look right, too much of the spindle is exposed. Though the DA 7600 BB has the same sindle length as the 7610.
Am I missing something?

that is the proper match. i have the same setup and it provides a perfect chainline. 109mm spindle. i didn't notice anything too strange looking. your best bet is to measure and be sure.

looking at my bike a second ago, you might be perceiving that the spindle is longer because, in cartridge bottom brackets, the cups are recessed a couple of mm from the outside of the bottom bracket shell to where the bearing/seal actually is, which shows more of the spindle, making it appear longer. on standard loose bearing setups, the cups have flat surfaces that are flush with the outside of the bottom bracket shell. you will "see" a longer spindle on the cartridge relative to this. i hope this makes sense and clears up the situation.

I just threw it on my new frame (a non-NJS Japanese frame, but mucho kewl!) and it works out fine. Now I just need a 48t chainring & swap out that pesky 49t...
