Sometimes the fear of asking and being rejected is worth overcoming. We have a downhill on a 2 lane road "Industrial", that riders have to navigate from North to South in order to cross under US36 to get safely to business park, Interlocken.

With a highly active mall, we often get drivers who do not realize there is a bike route there. A couple of us asked the city for "bike crossing" signs and the request was just approved today.

Look forward to seeing the new signs. May not help a lot, but every little bit does help.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Drivers forget how fast a bike can go, especially down screamer downhills. Hopefully it'll prevent t-boning a car at 40+ mph. :crossed fingers:

May I suggest that the sighns say "Bicyclists Crossing"?

Funny you should mention that. Today they asked:

1. what type of signs I wanted, and
2. where did I want the signs placed.

Heck, like I care.

I asked for
1. diamond sign with bicycle image
2. sign underneath saying one of the following:

36 underpass
interlocken underpass
underpass crossing
west park

The diamond and bike icon is key, the rest is just fluff.
