Remembering Tomorrow: The Last Drive and a World without the Car.
These are two stories I just came across earlier today and I have to admit they have made a great impression upon me. I think everyone here should read them.

The first one is the one that I found most powerful and I must admit it is at least partially realistic. I want to wait a bit before I get into why that is.
The second one is not quite as good of a story because it comes across as having more of an axe to grind, however the author backed it up with real data this time and that probably saves it from just being some anarchist's wet dream.
Even though these are both great works of fiction I do not think they will be anything beyond that, there is simply no possible way things can get that bad.
Anyway what do you guys think?
