Lace em any way you want and ride them any way you want. The only thing we do not cover against failure is the bearings.

Man, you spend all that money on the wheel and then cant afford a respectable 6mm Allen wrench!! !!! I will pick one up for you and bring it to the next stage of the tour...........Marcus seems to put in orders with them pretty frequently, I bet he would be able to get a hold of one for you.

brent's super-helpful / really responsive to emails and phil wood seems to stand behind everything they make 100%. allen bolts though, in my estimation, would be a product component subject to inherrent wear and tear. i'd suspect that if they didn't flow you new ones gratis, they'd sell 'em to you cheap.

I was just kidding, but not really. I was going to go to sears this week and pick up a 6mm because I need one now too, kind of thinking the kind that goes on a socket wrench. Anyway if you want one I can get two?

I'm going to pick up some replacements soon. Marcus has them and the monster nuts. However, I'm probably going to opt for the monster anti-slip/mega grip nut and washer. Super beefy.

get the craftsman t wrenches.... its 15.00 for a pack from 2.5mm to 10mm. If one breaks you can take them all back and they will replace them....


edit; nevermind you are talking not about tools. hmmm. buy em anyway...

Damn, those are beefy. And I know what a kick you get out of tightening down your Phils...and nothing eases the pain of replacement like upgrading.

AFAIK, warranty also applies to BB (not a whole lot to break on a BB). You'll notice that they don't cover bearing failure (which is what happens to all bearings over time) but they will rebuild bottom brackets w/ new bearings super cheap, and It'll take 25000 miles+ of hard riding before that is necessary.

I've been running the chrome domes on my Lemond since the hubs were laced up. Phil suggested them for aluminum but I like the larger contact area it provides on my sub 11's.

yeah, I'm really happy that they got back to me soo quickly and with the answer I wanted to hear as well. Its nice to know that throwing a couple hundred bucks on a set of hubs they'll stand behind them and get back to people with questions.

I just got my set of Phil high flange track hubs delivered a few days ago from a supposedly reputable online retailer. They came wrapped in brown wrapping paper in a generic box with no technical info, no warranty, nothing but their bare natural beauty (they look perfect and new). I emailed sales at Phil Wood on Tuesday to ask them if this is normal, but I've heard nothing. I'd expect for $300+ to at least get a little bubble wrap. What do you guys think? They look new, but I've bought $15 crap from Performance that came with a warranty and better packing, and I'm disapointed that Phil sales has ignored my email.
