Ok, I Know this forum gets this question a lot, but I guess I will ask it again. I have been riding for several years, but never broke down and bought an Indoor trainer. I think I convinced the wife to let me bring by bike to the work out room in our house. I would like to get something that is under a thousand dollars that is easy to hook up to the computer, so I can keep track of my training! I want to get something that computes cadence, power, distance, and last but not least programmable resistance. What do you guys recommend?

You can do all that except programmable resistance with a simple Polar cycle computer. I use a tacx cycle force one with the polar computer and I just shift gear when I want more resistance.

There are other models from tacx that include either a power meter and adjustable resistance or even a computer display so you compete against virtual opponents. I have never tried those but they look pretty cool to a gadget addict like me.

The only way, I think, to train indoor is as close to riding outdoor as you can. That only leaves one trainer; the e*motion rollers from www.insideride.com. Yes, there is one better, the Super Trainer, but unless you want drop a big chunck of money better stick with the rollers.
