Cassette Wobble
So my friend brings over his new Ultegra 30-speed Windsor Knight with ShimanoWH-500 wheels to check out. It’s got this slight hula wobble in the cassette. It’s only noticeable when the wheel is freewheeling and the cassette is stationary. I’d estimate the wobble to be between 0.020” and 0.030”.
Shifting seems fine. Is this a problem?

If the shifting works well, it's more of an aesthetic problem than a technical one.

Yeah, some perfectly good freehubs do the dance. I think its caused by the freehub not being perfectly centered(concentric to the axle).

Please see this thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vintage/175006-freewheel-wobble.html I had posted under Classic and Vintage because that's what the bike is where I noticed the problem. The equipment is a little different (casette vs freewheel), but the symptom seems to be the same.

More then pretty common. All freewheels and freehubs have a slight wobble as you describe. If not, then it doesn't freewheel.
