Any way to stop squeal in xtr v-brakes?!?
Do NOT give me all the regular answers like toe-in, sanding pads...etc. I have done it all. These brakes squeal because of vibration in the mechanism.. all those loose links. Just like brake squeal in a car, it is not caused by the rubbing of the pad on the rim, but the pad vibrating. Anyone have any experience with the avid ultimates?

I worked thin elastics between the links like bushings and tied them. Mine never did squeal, but it stopped the rattling going over bumps. Brake operation was not noticibly affected.

yeh i have the ultimates
in my opinion after working with xtr m960 v's... i feel the ultimates are far better...
as for brakes... the parallel push probably has developed a little slop (if they are older)* and needs an over haul

Had I known these existed, I might not have given my XT brakes away to a friend.
