700x22 should fit fine i think... i have no clue how is the clearence in GT forks, gt forks have brake drills right? it thats the case u'll have clearance maybe to put a 700c x 23 clincher in there. All the track bikes I have ever riden u cant put a 700x23 on their forks.
UM
Ps: if u r talking about a 28 inches "sight seen" wheels in stell and that look like a truck tire...as the one my grand pa used to ride when going to do errands... forget it, it wont fit at all...those are like 28 inches x45 mms high (im making up the numbers ok?)

no.. I was talking about width... I didnt know how tight the fork clearance would be. This will be my first aluminium frame, and with all the talk of stiffness I was hoping to fit some cushier tires on there to add some cushion

I have a Viner track bike from the 70's. i can fit a 23 on it, but the clearance is CLOSE, as in a few pieces of paper. I've never had a problem with it, but it makes me nervous, though not nerbous enough to put a 20 on it.

you're not going to get anything bigger than a 23 on there. if you're running a 700c rim on a 27" fork, you'll have a lot more clearance, but most modern forks are a tight fit.

the gt isn't anything like the other bicycle frames mentioned in this frame. i'd hold out for an answer from a gt owner. it's like an iro owner telling you, "yeah, sure, my track frame fits 35c tires. yours should too."
