Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Make that "boy bag." That thing is smaller than my RELoad "Executive" go-to-work-with-my-laptop bag.

that thing looks more like a laptop bag than a messenger bag...seems that companies think that just because it is a shoulder bag it automatically becomes a messenger bag

that's whats so funny to me--the whole pimpin' "bike culture" (which is funny in it's own right when ya think about it in say a post-modern frenchy sorta way--but we won't get into that here) to sell *****. and the ad copy is hilarious. apparently one of the dudes got called a "pursey" at a perty for carryin' a manbag and an idea was born! he was carryin' all his "gadgets"!

they look purty gay to me. (and lest i get in trouble i mean "gay" not as *****exual but as shall we say "twee". ok?)

This is about the only bag that I would consider in addition to my Chrome bag:

https://rapha.cc/index.php?page=99&PH...b3099ab74544d4

It is a little fashiony, but Rapha makes some nice (if not expensive) *****.

I thought someone had actually done a scrote-bag.

That'd be pretty amazing, come to think of it.

lookin' at these bags it's now clear to me whay everyone (and i mean everyone) uses either bailey, chrome, or (to a lesser extent here in boston and even nyc from what i can tell) reload bags. these other ones are gay. of course the manbag one IS (winkingly) gay. the other one is just borders on what my chick insists on putting under the rubric "metrosexual" (or is it "meterosexual"?), i.e., in my considered opinion "gay".

anyway, lest you cats think ol' brunop spends all his time thinkin' about stupid ***** like bags to carry your crap in while you're on your bike, well he doesn't (and he doesn't really have any idea why he just shifted into the third person like some ******)--it's just that i am at work and i am not usually at work this time of day (or evening) and i don't really dig it and am gettin' hungry.

havin' said that, i'm thinkin' 'bout maybe gettin' a bean and rice burrito on the way home. i have an 11.5 mile helluva fun ride home (mostly downhill!!). or i could get a slice or two of armando's pizza in cambridge. anyway, that's why i was thinkin' 'bout bags. i'm totin' my crap tonight in a bailey just so ya know. rollin' east coast style!! ya'll bettah know dat!!

A: The "map case" is only acceptable if you actually carry maps, clearly marked with the enemy position, and you have a cyanide capsule sewn into the lining in case you're captured.
heh

F that noise...the best bag trend ever had to be Jansport backpacks. With or without the optional leather bottom. That or fanny packs. I think I'm gonna start rocking the fanny pack again. Preferably with a ripped tank top that says Muscle Beach Venice, or Gold's Gym on it.

DiMartini, of course is the original, all metal fittings, canvas don't shift and those cool brass strap tabs are just so...Dunno? classic?
I gotta rinse mine a couple of times a summer but what the ****, They hold up better than timbuk2.

BTW, anyone in DC find a bloodstained black Manhattan Portage east of dupont (17th and "Q" on 11/11/01? Or perhaps GW ER? I would love to get it back, it has a lot of sentimental value, I don't know where I put it as that was my blood.

(homemade third strap, wrinkled reflective patch, etc.

I like my locally made Under The Weather bags, but all I have to compare against are the chrome bags, manhattan portage and Timbuk2. I prefer the UTW over any of these really.

That manbag is just a sheisty laptop bag they decided to call 'messenger'. Can you imagine how much that thing would swing around/kill you?
