Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

...I am buying a motorcycle, and may be selling my two fixies to seal the deal.

I have betrayed you all for 30 piecies of silver, just in time for Easter....

Or a BSA. British bikes. I have a bit of a thing for them myself. My father used to have a BSA. And his first car was a Mini Cooper S. It made complete sense when I was born that the family moved to London.

I don't think I'd sell my fixies, at least not all of them, but I just might for the right bike.

at least motorcycles get waaaaay better mileage than cars. noisier, but that's a safety feature...and some of the fun things about a bike ride are things you get to keep. i've always thought that if i ever go back to internal combustion, it'll be a motorcycle.

Speaking of Jesus, I'm really excited about the Easter-themed danceparty coming up on Goode Fridaye. Bunnies and Shrouds, Peeps and Judas, chocolate and Stigmata.

Also, I just found out that the production of Peeps (and perhaps all marshmallow-y goodness) involves dead pigs. ****! (that was in all caps, fyi)

I'll never sell the Raleigh Record. She's a Brit and a bike...

Just not fixed. Yet.

Yup. It's true. Peeps are made of dead pigs smothered in cocaine and sugar.

I think I burnt myself out on them. I had four, a Harley Softtail,
a Kawi Zx-9 and a Vespa-Stella scooter that I got rid of to move
to Vt. I was glad when I did cuz they just took too much time and
money. I still have a DR650 Suzuki in the back of my garage that I
think is the best kept secret in Motorcycles......can go anywhere,
will not break even if you try to and gets about 55 mpg if you ride
sanely. Good luck on your kosmic travels Serendipper and if you ever
get up here to the Republic make sure you stop by and have some
syrup and cheeze !!!!

I got my license last summer, but I doubt I'll ever buy a motorcycle. No fun in the city, necessary protective gear that makes Rapha look like it's the Gap Outlet, and you wouldn't want to ride them even the teensiest bit drunk.

That said, Nortons are the Hetchins of motorcycles.

Your last two statements are obtuse to the point of being indeciperable. Not pickin', just sayin'.

Please clarify.
