The end of the Petersen era and of Bridgestone USA was 1994.
I believe they still exist as a Japanese entity https://www.bscycle.co.jp/en/product/index.html

An errant piece of flak tore a hole in a wing tank and, like a wounded bird, this is where she landed, not to return on this day, or any other day.

Ahhh the memories. My first 'real' roadie was a Bridgestone 600. I rode the hell out of that thing. Probably 5-6000 miles in one season with little more than rubber and chain lube. Ignorance was bliss.
