quick chainring question (campagnolo)

is there a specific term for this type of chainring, which these particular cutouts? i was trying to explain it to someone at my lbs and couldn't really put it into words.

it's a campagnolo nuovo record chainring
1/2" pitch
144mm bcd

i don't think your local store will be able to help you much with this one...
