Climbing DVD or Race Simulation First?
I want to do both of these tonight, but can't decide whether to do all the climbing repeats first or save 'em for after the 45 minute race simulation. hmmm ....

Are you talking aboutt the CTS videos? If you're used to high intensity workouts, then you could do both in the same day. If not, space them apart by a day or two if you are just getting into it.
Anyway, I've seen a lot of your posts before so my guess is you probably know what you are doing.
If you race, it might actually be interesting to try the climbing first and then the race simulation, then the same thing a week later except in the reverse order. Might give you an idea whether you can do a really hard effort (ie the climbing stuff) before a "race" and have sufficient recovery from the 1st to do ok at the second. If you do stage racing, and have the time tonight, do one and then 2-3 hours later do the other. That might kind of simulate what happens at some stage races where you have to do a crit and a TT in within 2-3 hours of each other.

yes the cts dvd's. went ahead and did the whole climbing one first, skipped the warmup for race simulation and went right into the race. it was about then that my calves started twitching. not quite the full on charlie, but they threatened to bring me down.
finished the workout regardless. it was pretty hard. i'll try it backwards next week. time to eat.

How does that work? Do you like sit on a trainer in front of the TV and it tells you what to do?

it's nice and consistent workout without all the traffic lights, intersections, people out on the road.
