Chain Wear

A brief search didn't turn anything up so here's the question: Roughly how many miles are your chains lasting?

It occurred to me after reading the chain slack thread that the chain on my beater is looking pretty similar and that I've dropped the chain more recently than I have before, but the chain is only 5 months old and can't have more than 400 miles on it. In that time though I have spent a lot of time goofing with skids and trackstands, etc. It isn't enough stretch that I can pull the half link out but its more than I can compensate for with vertical dropouts so, new chain time.
