new double toe straps spotted

There was this old thread asking about leather double toe straps a waze back.
I found that Soma Fabrications has them new.

They cost 39.99 which is more than 2x their single ones, which continues the mystery of why doubles cost so much. But they are cheaper than other ones out there. Not Gucci®-priced, but I tend to like Target® pricing if possible.

errebi sprints are only 5 dollars more. if you wanna get gucci my LBS sells gucci stamped tabs for connecting two singles together. Me personally, I'll keep dreaming towards the day that I can buy a pair of the kashimax or toshi ones without feeling absolutely ********.

doubles cost more because you need a bigger piece of leather to make them...

last I checked leather wholesale prices weren't THAT high, though. I think a lot of the price is driven by consumers willingness to buy them at the current price.

lorica (sidi shoe material) is superior to leather, in that it stretches less, is more breathable, better resistance to water, and just as durable. microtex (fizik saddle material) has similar properties.

for toe clips and shoes, it is resistant enough. i wouldn't recommend it for a motorcycle jacket though.

Personally I don't think its durable enough for shoes. A very small crash can completely ruin a shoe. I wouldn't trust it rubbing against the pedal cage all day either.
