World Voyageur Question

A few years ago I foolishly rid myself of a '73 World Voyageur to make some room in the garage. Looking back, I'm trying to recreate the fit I had with that bike. Can someone measure their top tubes and give me that measurement? I think I had a 57cm frame. Thanks,

brent

BTW, if the guy I traded it to in Dayton still has it, what would it take to get it back?

Bummer.
The seat tube is 23". I'll have to measure a top tube for you.

I'm going to show this post to my wife. This is exactly why I can't bare to get rid of any of the 50+ bicycles that I own. I am near to reaching the saturation point though and will have to part with a few, but it pains me to think of it. I really feel your sense of loss and regret.

I had a Centurion Sport when I was younger that I lost to a lady friend ( I was going to sell it to her, but I ended up working it out "in trade") ! I still miss that bike so much and keep on the lookout for it or a similar one that I can reasonably aquire. There is an intense emotional attachment to vintage bikes, at least I've found it to be the case with me. Your story makes me sad and bruises my inner child.

Ok, I measured it for you. The seat tube is 58cm c-t and the top tube is 57cm c-c (seat tube to steerer tube). Hope that helps.

I take some comfort that I'm not alone in this situation: I, too, had a blue '72/73/whatever in a 23" frame that I'd sold off back in '77 when I got out of the sport. And have bitterly regretted it ever since.

I've already bought two frames on eBay only to have BOTH sales fall through when the seller discovered that the seatpost was (seemingly) permanently corroded to the seat tube. Happily, both sellers were honest enough to cancel the deal, and in one case return my money, before shipping. So I'm still looking for a frame, preferably blue, as I never really cared for the yellow or orange. Blue with black mudguards and other accessories looked killer.

In the interim, I've set up my '64 Raleigh Gran Sport as the 10-year-earlier predecessor to the Voyageur. It's nice to have mudguards when you're out doing the morning workout and it rained the prior evening (like today, just got back and am having the morning coffee).

They probably are really stuck. My yellow Voyageur has a stuck seat post, but I had the guy ship it anyway. In my quest for the yellow bike, I aquired an extra orange and an exra blue frame. I've toyed with putting them on ebay, but never thought there would be a demand. Maybe I should rethink?

I'd be interested in talking to you about them, probably best done off-line. I can be reached at: sykerocker@netscape.net
