Darn Alluminum

This weekend I developed a horrible creaking/clicking noise and it drove me nuts. I went over my whole bike trying to isolate the problem. So after making sure everything was tight and in working order I determined that it had to be my cranks. Then I noticed that my quick realease for my seatpost wasnt sitting perfect so with much relief I fixed that....still there.

Now I am 100% convinced it was my cranks, even though they were nice and snug. So after work I took my ride into my new LBS (the old one went kaput, figures it would go outta business once I need work done) and had them give me their opinion. What it turned out to be was my new bomber that they had just put on the day before the problem started (duh). Seems as if Marz bombers sometimes have a problem when the metal rubs with the alluminum or something to that effect. And here I was ready to sell my soul, convinced that it was my cranks. It is simply amazing how the sound travels through the frame like it did. In fact, until its fixed and proven that it is the fork, I will still question it. But on a bright note. the new LBS is simply terrfic. Smaller and seemingly more personal then the old one. Im happy.

Aluminum sounds great, but I'm told carbon sounds even better. It's actually fairly similar to the cones in speakers
Took me a while to get used to the sound of pebbles hitting the frame when I went aluminum
