Quick question spoke breakage
So I bought a fairly nice fixedgear wheelset about 2 months ago . I've put roughly 1000 miles on it since then.
Last night I discovered I've already broken a spoke on the rear at the elbow right before te hub. It's not a huge deal to replace it, but I'm curious, does this not seem a little early for spokes to be breaking? I've never had this problem with new wheels.
Is this indicative of perhaps a crap wheel? I'm just curious if I should be indignant or I should just shut up and replace it
Thanks!

Making a kilometer blurry
The wheel was probably built with way too little tension. This is not normal. Replace the spoke, retension the wheel, and stress relieve it. If more spokes break, repeat, but they may be ok

So I took it back to the shop and they're going to doing for me. Apparently the wheel was machine built. The guy said it was probably a freak thing.

Make sure they properly tension and stress relieve the entire wheel.

Good luck with your tweaked wheel…
