MINNEAPOLIS: The Bicycle Film Festival presents a 24hour feature film challenge.

This announcement seems more or less relevant. Disclaimer: I am one of the people working on the Minneapolis edition of the Bicycle Film Festival, which runs July 6-8. Thanks for listening. -Barry

For those avid cyclists and/or filmmakers who just can't stand the anticipation for the Bicycle Film Festival Minneapolis, coming in July, and the second annual Bike-In at the Bell, coming in August, the folks from the 24HR Film Challenge, the Bell Museum, and Take-Up Productions offer a summer diversion in the spirit of all the best summer diversions--it's cheap, it's fun, it's hands on creative, it offers a flat-out undeniable argument for environmental advocacy! And it's even educational, provided our contestants are up to the challenge!

Men and women, girls and boys will gather to create the Twin Cities' first-ever 24HR Feature Film Challenge. In one turn of the clock, contestants will work with pieces of a divied up plot. They'll make a five minute film. When strung together, these seemingly stand-alone short films will fuse together to comprise an organic whole. Just imagine your exposition juxtaposed with your neighbor's chronicle of revenge, which precedes your cousin's contemplation of landscapes untouched by the all-too-often wicked hand of man! We'll see a tale of love, of loss, and, most importantly, a tale about the importance of alternative transportation and responsible transportation-oriented, community-driven development!

Artists and amateurs alike will have the unique ability to experience the entire creative process, from conception, to production, to exhibition, first-hand. Even more importantly, they have that opportunity in a non-judgemental, welcoming atmosphere. And even MORE importantly, they have the opportunity to win PRIZES related to ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION! And MORE!!!

If benfaremo is who I'm thinking it is, is that offer to borrow a video camera still valid?

Jeremy

I've got the full Final Cut/Apple Video Suite here @ work (and better yet, know how to use it!)... I've also worked on a number of sweet film projects in the past so I'm interested in grouping up to knock this out. (but I dont have a 3CCD camera @ my disposal)
