Tioga Factory DH tires. Good, bad, ugly?

They are only $25 a piece at Bob's
https://www.bobs-bicycles.com/catalog...roducts_id=291

They look pretty manly and I need a new tire on the back of my rincon. What do you guys think of them?

They aren't worth 25$...I doubt he even bought them as they are usually an oem product on kona bikes.

They are acceptable started tires, but loose grip in fast wet conditions and fast dry conditions. They are a slow freeride tire.

Good to know.

Any recommendations on a tire that would be good for going over roots, rocks, loose soil, fallen trees? I live in maine, so all of those are daily items when on the trails.

I'm a Mainer myself, so I know the terrain you speak of. I really am liking my Schwalbe Light Alberts 2.25's. Running them front and rear. Basic knob pattern that seems to clean well in mud and hook up on wet rocks and roots. Ever at Bgr Bog?

Where should I get tires then? Or are some of the other tires at Bob's good for what I want?

Great other than the bugs. There is a substantial amount of stagnant water still and the insects are loving it. Other than that its excellent though.
