"Greenspace." Hm.

As if it were something special to be preserved. Like it's disappearing or something.

My great-great grandfather would have scratched his head about this one. "Greenspace?"

When my parents purchased their house 25 years ago, they preserved most of the original trees. I figure in 25 more years,
the trees alone will be worth more than the house.

I'm not worried, man. They don't seize private property like that in dense urban areas without paying a fair price for it...wait a dang minute!

Yes, they do, when they widen the roads!

Well, it'll be awhile before my winding little street becomes a major artery!

From: West Branch, Iowa USA

Bikes: 1998 Mongoose NX7.1, 2008 Kona Jake, GT singlespeed (year unknown).

My parents recently cut down 2 large dying trees in their yard and I tried to convince them to replace the trees. But, they said they didn't want any more trees, even though there are only three left. Considering the fact that they have said they plan on moving in five years, I think it is short sided of them to think that someone down the road isn't going to want a tree-filled yard.
