student needs your help

Feeling generous? Have a picture or two of your bike that you would like to be expressed in my art? I'm trying to find models of the non-human type. I'd really appreciate posting a picture or two of your ride. I'm looking to find the art in bikes. Each ride has its own personalitty.

Well... I do a little of everything. The style just depends on how a bike catches me. A friends Lemond was dark sketch with a slightly blurred tone and darker colors.

I'll have to admit- your art is a little disturbing, but I like your style and it seems to come out well.

Only a little? LOL
Well it is the Four Riders of the Apocalypse, trust me Steven King has nothing on the Book of Revelations..... All four of them are done now, I just have to take photos when the snow melts.

Can you post some of your art?

I'll see what I can do. Although I may have to go to kinkos if I want to scan in color pictures.

Yeah, I think it's a real turn-off for cyclists.

Anyway, I do notice a couple of students coming on to get cycling-related information for their school projects or something. Too bad I don't have a chance to do something cycling-related for a project, otherwise I would have done it with utmost enthusiasm!

I'm also writing a paper on the history of bicycles between 1880-1920. Do you see a trend?

The Four riders sit right next to State Line Cycles, in Endfield CT. Many many people have stopped to take photos, Ive taken two of then to the Larz Anderson Bike show in Boston, people were standing in line to have there photos taken. Another shop has offered to buy them so they could have them outside there shop. The money offered was very tempting, $25,000. I have never sold any of my art, I have given lots of it away as gifts.

Yes, they are a little scarry... but most people don't have a clue who the four riders are, so to most its just just skeletons on bikes. I was asked to build a twice life size Jesus on the cross, I passed on that project (so far) You know the funny thing is I'm not a religious person, havent been in a church in years. Is there a god? I don't know, but if there is I hope he rides a bike.
