Heat

I don't know if this applies to everyone, but this has been the hottest summer I can remember and it makes running and biking tough. Thank God my taper is coming in about a week.

No kidding! These +90 degree days always make me look forward to my swim workouts.

We have had about 2 weeks of 90+, sometimes in the 100's. I have been waiting until about 7PM to do anything outside if I can't do it in the AM. I was not able to workout last summer, but this is the hottest that I can remember.

Its 10:20 p.m. and its 90 degrees according to weather.com

I went out for a 15 mile ride today and just couldnt get my lungs. I have trained in the heat before but I have never experienced anything like this before. Its not going to get any better tomorrow - forecast is for 100 degrees!

I did a little workout the other day here in Oklahoma after church. I hit the noonday sun at about 105F. 1000m swim, 11 mile bike and 2.5 mile run. Wanted to QUIT before the work-out was over!

I don't ususally mind the heat, but I had to cool down in the backyard water sprinkler for 30 minutes BEFORE a beer even sounded good. Had a nice nap in front of the air conditioner later.

I think that was as close to a heat problem as I have ever had.

Be careful out there.

I just finished a two day ride across Michigan. Normally not that big of a challenge, but the 95-98 degree weather was a bit of a challenge. But we finished nonetheless.

I feel your pain on this. I got back from the beach last week. On top of how uneventfull it is to ride in a straight flat road for 30 miles I was so soaked with sweat I felt like the pool actually dried me off some. This heat can stop any day now I am ready...
