help me decide on a new frame/fork/wheels
allllllrighty then...
i decided that it was a waste of my time and energy trying to make my 29er something it isnt going to be. Sooooo, help me find a frame, fork, and wheelset that will hold up to a bit of bashing. Im not too worried about weight, but would like some pretty decent strength wheels. I was thinking Azonic Outlaws, new, at 200 dollars for the set. Not sure what fork or frame though. I can get santacruz, voodoo, cove, surly, salsa, BMC, DMR, and a few others. The complete bikes i can get are trek, fisher and cannondale, and i can get some frames by them. if full suspension, there must be enough travel that i wont bottom it off everything. good top tube clearance is neccesary, as is reliability. add to the mix, I am 6'3". so i need a 20-22 inch frame. large tire clearance is preferable, hardtail is possible, but FS would be very nice. i was thinking a Santa Cruz heckler as the FS choice. nice, burly, reliable single pivot setup. about 680 new frame w/ float R. Also thinking about a hardtail, something burly with lots of tire clearance. thinking a surly instagator. 220 for a 20 inch frame.
lemme know what your opinions are. im open to other options. also, what fork to get? something longish travel with a 20mm axle i think.
