Mont Ventoux to L’Alpe d’Huez

Hi
has anyone thought of doing this in a day.
Starting from Sault climb Mont Ventoux then ride the valleys to L’Alpe d’Huez.
According to Garmin Mapsource the distance is 168 miles and looking at the route in Google earth there are only two big climbs.

Any thoughts and how would you go about training for it.

Would you enter Bourg d'Oisson from the East over Lauterret or from the west through Grenoble....Sorry for the spelling errors. I've done both of them but not in a single day. Sounds challenging. When are you going there?

Hi
I am looking at Mid May next year.
The plan is then to have an easy ride down the Valley to Gap, then back to Sault the following day.
One heck of a long week-end.
