chicago couriers
does where you work need another rider? it's getting to be that time of year where no one wants to do it. (the suckers back down) and i need a job. I'm not in that city, but i could be. what courier companies should i try (all of them, but i'm looking for a heads up, i know how to do/get the job). I don't know that city very well, but cities are easy to learn, and that is what maps are for. and tell me what park i can sleep in without cops yelling at me (philly cops are pretty up on that. whole lotta yellin). yeah, any help would be sweet.

Crackhead Messenger Service, aka CMS, will always hire. I never worked for them, but I've heard they give you tons of BS, but pay well. At least it will keep you going 'till you find a better company that is hiring. Also, there is that new(ish) co-op company. I forgot thier name.

Post over at chifg.com if you're looking for the local Chi crew these days.
Fourstar is probably not hiring -- they're staying small in the meantime.

but I asked her about open companies right now too - and Dynamex and On Time are your best bets for actually living/eating/surviving (and she mentioned these with you in mind, jason!).

If you're really serious about sleeping in a park, lots of people sleep
on the lakefront on the northside. A few are messengers. Sad but true.

I will map out some spots for you. I've done it before.
Only worry is it's going to be getting pretty cold at night real soon.

Try Velocity, byut make sure you bring a juvenile sense of humor and a rubber butthole with you.
