Looks like I procrastinated too long on the Back Roads Century--registration closed.

For our local crampers here's n old article from NY times
https://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/14/he...on/14BEST.html
No silver bullet cure though and apparently the docs don't really know what the ultimate cause is. Different theories pointing to electrolytes(if sweating a lot) and muscle becoming fatigued(duh). I'm still popping the pills.

Would've liked to have you two along. I registered early only because the site said that you would get the free t-shirt ONLY if you registered before 9/1. I didn't expect that they would totally close the registration.

Yeah. Sux. Now, we won't be there to "deflect" tirades if you ride with a certain Ms.

Sorry, Harry. I thought I was, but I decided to make this a DC RAND weekend--3 centuries back to back--for free.

Yah, paying for these things seems silly, but I like being with a bunch of cyclists of all levels. Paid for the Seagull this morning, now that's insane, will reconsider next year unless significant friends are doing it.

I will be away at the beach for most of next week and be back on Friday night. I'm working Sat daytime during the CWC (have a ton of fun all who're riding it) and then Indian Head is the next day.
Harry, If you've got room for me in the family van for sunday, I'd gladly pay for gas and a beer. (Also, there is a nice rider who's come on several rambles- Jeff, who is also looking for a ride down to Indian Head)
I will have email access while I'm gone. -GB

GB-Sure thing-having you guys relying on me will insure that I do it, or is that ensure?
The family van is no longer the family van, M drives a Prius so the van has been re-purposed as official team car/sag wagon. Worked well in the Adirondacks.

Did the Bay Country today. Great ride, finished with 18mph avg(solo-no pace)-fast for me. Saw Janet but didn't ride w her. I got out fast and was pretty much the fourth or fifth century rider at the stops. Seems many more did metric, why?

Yesterday's (Saturday) ride:
https://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/880233
Apologies, but I haven't gotten a chance to annotate the geo-tagged pictures.
I'll be heading back out to Frederick this morning for century 2 of 3.

Sunday's ride:
https://www.trimbleoutdoors.com/ViewTrip/881857
Again, apologies. I haven't had chance to annotate the pictures.
Today's ride (Monday) will sort of be a preview of the Indian Head 100. It'll be on roads in the same vicinity.

Hello everyone,
I mostly ride the B&A Trail, and on occasion I see large groups of riders. What clubs are out there that ride the B&A Trail?
I don't think I am fast enough to ride with an organized group yet, but I would like to give it a try.

I'm interested....and jealous. Nice rides. I've seen this format before and wondered what it was. Your pictures don't get big when I clicked on them. Maybe it's due to your phone.
This wknds weather was perfect. I rode a little through the city yesterday after brewing. Rode past the Md fans tailgating then near the area where the guy was stabbed(St. Paul). I rode through about 30 minutes before the stabbing. yikes!!

Another stabbing? You're not talking about the guy who was stabbed by those two dirt bags while he was chatting with his mom, but a new one? That attack changed my perception of Baltimore forever. Always knew it was ultra violent but that one just hit me in the gut.
I did 65 in county yesterday, very nice-and only a few minutes north of the killing fields. 165 mile weekend, about my limit before I lose interest, both were fun. Looking forward to next weekends back to back, that will be my limit.

@Charlie - yeah, the pictures -should- be bigger, but they aren't. The Trimble Outdoors software controls the size. Why? I don't know. Why do they not let the user pick the resolution via the cell phone's camera resolution setting? It's not as if assigning a set of coordinates to a picture will take up a whole lot of room in the picture file.
Monday's ride was down in the area where the Indian Head 100 will be held this coming weekend. I hope that the driver behavior I saw there, yesterday, was no indication of the way it'll be this coming weekend. It seemed like that there were a lot of "angry" motorists there. They pass cyclists with engines roaring. Maybe it's the predominance of pick-ups. I don't know.

Baltimore Bike club's Civil War Century - I have registered. My companion hasn't.
Does anyone have a registration they aren't going to use?
