disassembling skewers
Hi, is it possible to take the nut on the clamp side off a standard shimano skewer and if so, how do you do it? The skewer got bent on the other side so I'm trying to pull it out the clamp side. Thanks.

Yes, you can take that side off. The lever is probably held in place with a small hex-nut or a small spring clip. Take that off. Slide the lever out. Slide off the body (i.e. the QR nut). Saw off the "ball" end of the skewer.
You could also just try to bend the other end straight.
