Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Get a nice helmet, it helps

I purchased an Atmos helmet today and went on my first ride with it. Before I had been using some 2 and a half year old crap $40 helmet from some sporting goods store (it was a Bell something). I only really used it at the track when it was required, or on rides when it was required. The reason I hated wearing it was because I try to ride with sunglasses and sweat would just be all over them. I would be profusely sweating to the point of having to take of my sunglasses. I need new sunglasses, but was reluctant to get them because my other ones were ruined from having to basically put them through the dishwasher every ride. The Atmos was amazing, not a drop of sweat. It made my old helmet feel like a sockhat. Just wanted to let anyone that was thinking about getting a new helmet, vents ****ing matter.

i got a bell sweep r not because i wanted something fancy, but because it was the only medium that fit my head well. all the large helmets i tried on looked so huge.
