Florida has a new tag...
I was pissin around on the FL gov site(s) and I came across the new license tag available...I posted awhile back another FL tag, and people didn't respond to well to it. How is this one?
https://www3.hsmv.state.fl.us/Intrane...ltytags/a.cfm?
If there was a nationwide effort to promote cycling, I think this might go a long way...What do you think?

Well, the guy's got good lane positioning.
Looks like it's generated $600K or so for bike advocacy. It'd be interesting to find out what it had been used for.

Check my avater, as South Carolina has one too, but officaly belonging to the Palmetto Cycling Coalition. I think it is the second most selling specility plate. The few things I've seen with the funds from it are more "Share the Road" signs and more bike lanes.

FL has a new motor vehicle law as well. All drivers must stay 3' away from cyclist or risk a ticket. We will see how well they communicate and enforce this law. BTW - I have the old STR licence plate and I like it better than the new one.

great, it's got an image of a cyclist riding in front of a car that's about to run him off the road.

I agree. The cyclist looks like a space alien, ET on a bike.
Any ideas for witty personalized plates?

The money is not just for this plate. FL has had different share the road plates over the years (see stonecrd's post). Does Cleveland still have a team?? I thought they got bumped down to arena football...

No one carries the DogBoy
check out the bike florida website. I did that ride this year and they talked about how the money is used. However, as a resident of WI I didn't pay much attention to it.
