Sometimes it's hard to say no to just a couple more miles.

It is so nice this afternoon. My wife wants to see a movie. I went out and rode for almost four hours this AM. Now, the weather is perfect. But , a movie. I want to go out and ride in the warm sun. Can always get in a movie the next four days, when it is supposed to rain.
I just feel why not get in another 2 hours since we have four days of rain coming. We can always go out and do something else tonight.
Ever get going ,having a great ride and not ready to give it up. Four days of rain. Lots of Bike forum time.

I use to get into arguements about this with my wife. Now I just foller her around like a little duck, doing what I'm told.

Are you joined at the hip? Ask her how the movie was when you get back from your ride.

Go for the ride, rent a video you can both watch tonight when it's cold and dark outside. Snuggling is fun, as I recall.

A few weeks ago I set out to do a nice easy 50 miles. When I got to the turn around point I was feeling great, so I kept riding. It ended up being an 85 mile ride.

Yeah, that's realistic.

Ah. The movie wasn't to show for another couple days.( Independent films' are shown irregularily..) She wanted to see it right now. It was an important film to both of us. I just looked out at the blue warm, sky and thought , four days of rain. Unlikely I will ride again until At least Thursday. I had not yet, had enough. I was sort of hoping we'd ride to the beach for a picnic.

This is the correct approach. Life is soooooo much easier when you don't have to think for yourself.

Agreed. Now lets never acknowledge this fact again. It'll be our little secret, ok?

Frequently. It's reached the stage for me where I always make sure I have set aside enough time to ride a century, because the odds are that's what I'll be doing anyway.

You know, I think thats the point. I need to go out and really stress myself out, over my cycling needs. Sometimes, in ideal conditions, I don't feel I've had enough unless I wipe myself out. It's not that many of us won't go out in lousy weather, but in ideal conditions such as balmy 21 degree days; it's just a little more difficult to quit. Next balmy day, I need get in that century.

Be thankful you're able to get out for a 4 hour bike ride.

I was just thinking, i'd be giving up riding for the next four days, when conditions were so ideal. Movie going can be done in any kind of weather.
