25.4 quill stem

Does anyone know of a quill drop stem (angle between stem and quill is acute as opposed to obtuse) that is made for 25.4mm bars? I'm basically looking for a shorter version of the nitto techtonic. I'm afraid the quill on those is so long that I wouldn't be able to get the stem low enough.

There are plent of old road stems designed with 25.4mm clamp. These are usually SR or Nitto or Sakae - 25.4mm bars were the Japanese standard.
These stems are in the "7" shape where the extension is horizontal when the stem is inserted into the fork's steerer tube - the bend is usually 73 degrees or so.

Look on eBay. Or - I've got lots of these stems sitting around, some beautiful and all in fully functional shape. What length extension do you need?
if you look at my Miyata commuter bike (pics linked in my sig), there's what a 25.4mm-clamp 100mm-extension stem looks like when raised to the max of its very normal-length quill.

Shims are available to make any 26.0 stem clamp a 25.4 bar. The ones I'm familiar with are made by Nitto in stainless steel. The Technomic is available in 25.4 and can be chopped (carefully) so that it can be lowered further. Also Nitto makes the Technomic Deluxe, shorter quill & nicer finish though I don't know if it comes in 25.4.

AEBike has a ton of them (shorter quills at the bottom):

The AEBike shorter quills isn't a wide selection and they're all 26.0mm clamp diameter. And while you can use a shim to do this converstion, there's no need to do so if you can get ahold of stems designed for 25.4mm clamp, which are easily enough available.

There are lots of older 25.4mm stems on eBay - forged construction from Japan, good stuff. And again, PM me if you know what you're looking for because I've got some nice 25.4mm-clamp stems sitting around.

I got the bars shimmed now, but I was looking for a set up that didn't need a shim. I need something around 10cm.

A lot of 70s vintage 10 speeds had 25.4. all the old Raleighs I've seen had 25.4mm SRs that were very nice. Any place with a lot of used bike stuff. Local bike coop, or LBS with an old parts bin should be able to fix you up cheap.

If eBay is an option for you:

Fits the bill, and affordable: https://cgi.ebay.com/SR-Royal-Road-Qu...QQcmdZViewItem

100mm with a drop and 25.4 clamp!

A little expensive, but how about: https://cgi.ebay.com/NITTO-NJ-Pro-NJS...QQcmdZViewItem

I bought my Technomic from this seller.
