First test
Today I was able to take my new Fisher out to the stomping grounds and try it out for the first time!! I go like a dream. The tires track really well in the sand. The stomping grounds by the way, is covered with sand. What usuallt stopped me or made me slow down was nothing on my new bike, I cruised through the sand with confidence.!!! The XT is great, the Rock Shox kicks butt amd I love the rapid fire. I can't wait till the next ride.

I knew I was forgetting something!!! Speaking of carbo-loading, have any of you read about using circus peanuts? I read about it in Dirt Rag and it is supposed to work if you like circus peanuts. I went and looked at the nutrition facts and circus peanuts have 7 complex carbo's, not bad. I meant to pick up a pack of them today but I forgot, and I didn't have any money. I will try next time.

I read about the circus peanuts. It's been years since I had them, but I never thought they tasted great. Try fig newtons - bite size package, taste good and pretty good price.
BTW, if you only read one MTB mag, it should be Dirtrag.

Riderx is right about fig newtons: they work well, they're neater than a lot of foods to carry, and they're fairly cheap.
Are circus peanuts different from regular roasted peanuts somehow?
I knew a US Postal Service letter carrier who carried peanuts because he was prone to hypoglycemic attacks in a serious way--he would pass out! After he started munching on peanuts during his route, his problem was licked. So they're good for keeping the blood sugar stable, apparently.

Circus peanuts are a strange candy, colored orange and shaped like a peanut, but taste nothing like a peanut. Actually, I can't describe what they taste like, they are in a league all their own. Usually found on the racks w/ candy buttons and the like.

Sounds like your having fun on your new bike Fubar. What tires are you running on the sand?
As for Circus Peanuts, man are they sweet! I ate one the other day. Taste sweeter than pure sugar. The best way I can think to describe them is stale marshmallows. They're alright but I don't think I could eat very many of them!

I have a Panaracer Sokie 26x2.1 in the back, and a specialized Team Control 26x2.0 in the front. the Team control is really wide, I don't know why it says it is only 2.0, but it works really well in the sand. I love my bike, it fits me so well, i can't explain it.
