Another season of late sunrise.
Has anybody considered the effect that the new daylight saving time will have on your commute next Spring? Right now for me the two times with the latest civil twilight are right now, (late Oct.) and late Dec.-early Jan. At those times I ride for about 1 hour in total black.
Civil twilight at these two worst times is right around 7:45 AM CDT. Now when the time changes early in March it will mean yet another late civil twilight season. After the time changes in spring, I will be right back to 7:45 AM sunrise.

I don't mind riding in the dark so much. I actually prefer complete dark to twilight because the blinkies are showing up better. I find that dayglow colors work much better in twilight than in the day; better than blinkies for that matter. Now rainy twilight commutes; they are the ones that scare me.
I finally sprung for a decent light this year and it has been well worth it. In fact, we have started mountain biking before work now that we can see in the dark.

Right now the sun is just coming up when I'm riding to work.
When the "time changes" I'll be riding to work in bright sunlight (except on cloudy days ) but it will be getting dark when I'm about half way home in the evening.
Good thing my "new" headlights are working.
