How do you know that's not an April Fools joke by cycling news or even campy? It's a possibility.

Well, with mountain bikes making up almost 38% of annual sales compared to the 4.4% for road bikes, I think Campy is realizing there is a huge market not being utilized. (Figures from Bicycle Retailer).

I believe that they see what Sram has done, and feel with their name and reputation for precision and quality, they'll give it another go!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think I'd run a Campy component on my mountain bike

I feel like I oughta be wearing bib shorts or something

I would! Campy stuff is sweet! & oh yeah, rebuildable!!! Ever try to take apart a Shimano Rapid Fire shifter??? You can, but you can't put it back!!!

Feh! I try not to mess with Shimano stuff too much

Actually there are only a few Shimano parts on my bike.. thank God for the aftermarket! Finally Shimano doesn't control the market for decent mountain bike parts anymore.

Yeah... I think Shimano was making crappy stuff for a long time simply because they had no competition. It should be interesting to see how they evolve now that there are some companies making stuff that in my opinion is better than Shimano. To each his own, however

Man, I'm impressed that anyone bought that after the article about Pantani's ears. That was the tipoff, along with the "special edition" bit. They retracted it today. You've been had.

I didn't even look at the other stuff there. I don't really care about Pantani, just went straight to the Campy article.
