Air chuck for presta valves?
Does anyone make a air chuck (for air line) for presta valves? Currently adding an adapter to add air via a normal Schrader air chuck. Would like to aid air directly without the adapter.
(Note...talking about air line from my air compressor...not a hand pump)

I haven't heard of such a thing. The adapter is your best bet. I used to carry one for emergencies, but don't remember ever using it because I've always had a frame pump. I've never used my compressor at home because I have a floor pump. What if you have a flat miles from a gas station?

I made my own out of a commercial tire inflator that incorporates an air guage, a Silca presta head, and a hose clamp. The inflator set up works great but my air compressor is a little wimpy for inflating road tires unless it has just finished recharging itself.

Get one of those air blower gun things that snap to the air line.Take off the tip.Screw in a small section of pipe (nipple with threands) next screw on a regular air chuck(tip)for schrader valves.Now unscrew the front of the schrader chuck and toss the part that presses the valve core.re-screw the front on.Use the gun as a triger to start/stop air flow--the schrader chuck without the plunger will work for presta valves.---sam

I carry an adapter all the time for use away from home. Wanted something to quickly top off my tire pressure before a ride. The Air Bob looks like just the trick...but a bit pricy at $90. Sam's approach to modify a normal schrader air chuck looks promising...will try that. I think I may throw in a pressure regulator to dial in the pressure I want in the tire to avoid overpressure.

The Presta-only air chucks for Silca floor pumps are available at bike shops for less than $10 or at Bike Tools Etc for $5. Look here:

It has a hose barb that will fit into a standard 1/4" air line using a small hose clamp. It is extremely durable and replacement washers are readilly available too.
