Is a clydesdale considered....
...to be a cyclist who is the right weight for his or her height, or a cyclist who is both the right weight for his or her height & over weight regardless of height?
If a clydesdale is a both I am right there with you at 5' 11", 290 pounds. So what do I get for being part of the "club"

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

The separation has more to do with racing then anything, as a larger rider can put some undue force on a smaller rider. A 145# espoirs does not want to get into a shoulder rubbing contest with a 270# clydsdale at speed. Since you ride a 'bent, rubbing shoulders is moot.

At present, Im 205, and will prolly get to about 185 by springtime. But at 185, I'm only 2 weeks, a case of beer, and a dozen tainted doughnuts from 200 so I will always be a Clyde regardless of weight. After all, they call me Da-HOSS!

As part of 'The Club', you might just get a Clyde jersey. I think someone here is designing one.
