The bikewoman comes to rescue!

So I'm riding along today on a relatively quiet street, with a few cars around, passing an elementary school with some kids at the playground. Suddenly I hear kids shouting and notice a round green object rolling speedily along the sidewalk towards the street. Ah, some kid kicked the ball too hard and it flew over the short fence onto the street. One more second and it'll get squashed under merciless car tires...

But fear not! I accelerate, intercept, kick the ball back onto the sidewalk then grab it and throw it back to the kiddies who are cheering: "Hey, biker! Hurray biker! Me, throw it to me!"

Second time I saved a seemingly doomed kids' ball while riding a bike. Feels good.

All right! I finally found a partner for bicycle polo!

Nice job on PR for cyclists, too.

Maybe this will counteract that idiot cyclist who moved too far forward at an intersection and forced me to move further into my lane/traffic. I said "Not so far forward" whereupon he swore at me. I yelled back that he was an idiot.

You give the kids too much credit. Simply, they are just being typical pervs. When I was in elementary school we did the same thing. We would wait for a hot chick to pass by and kick out a ball or something. Sometimes they would pass by, sometimes they would stop and throw it back. When they bent over to pick up the ball... we would all scream and yell. It starts at about 7 years of age and can continue for another 80 or 90 years.

Interesting explanation. But then about 60% of people who see me in my biking attire think I am male...

I once caught a golf ball which came bouncing down the street which a guy hit out of the golf course while I was cruising around the Rose Bowl.

I was once playing golf when a buddy of mine duck hooked his driver off the tee-box, onto the street and hit a cyclist! Luckily the cyclist wasn't hurt.....
