Newbie from Georgia
Hello, all.
I'm a newbie here on Bike Forums, having just signed on. I am a relatively new returnee to bike riding. While in school I used to ride a Diamondback MTB with slick tires as a commuter in Atlanta. Grew up and got kids and stopped riding. Last March I decided to get a new bicycle and am riding a Novara (REI's store brand) Strada road bike. It's not a bad bike, but not the lightest thing on the planet. (Of course, I'm not the lightest thing on the planet at the moment, either! ) I've logged about 1500 miles on the bike since I bought it.
I'm looking forward to getting to know some of y'all better.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Welcome cnkjr from a Decatur/Atlanta bike commuter and weekend roadie.
+1 on Serendipper's suggestion about the Southeast subforum. Particularly the Atlanta/Decatur needs a LONG "What's Up" thread too! Lots of local folks talk about area rides and many of us have met up at the Melton's Tuesday night ride.
Glad you found us.
