aerobar question
Does anyone have any experience with mounting aerobars to oversize handlebars? I have seen them mounted on different bikes and I am curious if there is any way to compensate for the transition from the 31.8 size down to the the smaller section of tubing. The cockeyed slant that occurs is pretty much unacceptable and I am considering just buying a standard bar (but I love the Ritchey WCS). Any suggestions?

I don't understand the problem. My FSA 'flat top' bar (alloy) is ~32 mm
and my Easton aero bars fit fine. Yes, they are clamped adjacent to the
stem. I've got a Profile Design that I havn't yet fitted to my older Ritchey
~26 mm bar. The Profile Design comes with shims so it would fit either
diameter.
Maybe this'll help. I believe that the aero bars are intended to mount
adjacent to the stem and have adjustments so that the elbow pads
can be separated as necessary. Granted, your idea of as necessary
may not jive with mine or the manufacturer's.
