Bmx Questions

First i have a rockstar ex1, it's got a gyro and i really dont want it on there. its on the bike but not fully hooked up. I have one question for you guys.
1.Can i take the gyro off? and just run a straight cable for the brake w/out getting a new headset?

thanks

From: Still stuck in hell.

Bikes: 2011 SE Old Man Flyer.

Very easy to do.

Take your stem off and remove the gyro, replace it with an appropriate amount of spacers. Then just buy a new cable, I recomend a Odyssey Linear cable. They come in plenty of colors and are very smooth cables. After that it's just a matter of cutting the cable to length (Leave enough to be able to spin your bars around twice) and installing.
