Temporary Pinoy Roadie Forum

here is the temporary board link,

www.siklistangpinoy.proboards.com

I don't think it's an internet forum. It's more of a pinoy roadie clique club whereby you need to introduce and identify yourself. The forum administrator does not want to have anonymous members. For me, I will just cross my fingers and wait for the PinoyRoadies.org forum to get fixed.

Just my 2 sentimos.

PINOYROADIES.ORG is the same as www.SIKLISTANGPINOY.proboards.com they are both forum for cycling. you need to be a member to post. You can only be anonymous in PINOYROADIES quickchat. Will you be hiding something from your co-members that's why you want to be anonymous?
thank you for giving out the link to the temporary site for PR. I don't want to break the bonding that we have with other PR members that's why I MADE SIKLISTANGPINOY. and i was here at BIKEFORUMS to look for some members of PR for them to go to SIKLISTANGPINOY. Am also a member of this forum since last year.

Loadmaster0725,

In an internet forum, you are allowed to exercise your own level of privacy through the use of an anonymous "user name." To join a forum, you only need to provide a user name, password and a valid email address. To join a club, you need to have the approval of the person(s) who created the club. I signed up as a member of your temporary forum soon after you set it up. But after two weeks of lurking, you sent me message that I need to "introduce myself" and that I can't maintain my anonymity if I want to continue as a member. It's true that I'm hiding something from the co-members in the forum, my privacy. This is the internet. I've been victimized by identity theft and would rather be cautious than sorry in giving out personal information.

I've been a member of PR since February 2008 and only has less than 100 posts since I'm more of a lurker that a poster. But I've enjoyed reading the postings made by tiger27 about his dedication to training even during the cold winter months in order to improve his personal best times in TT races, oka about his successful fight against cancer and the charity rides that he participates in, makoy about his almost daily 100 km training rides in Subic, the alabang, laguna, cavite and manila members' group ride with their PR jerseys to puerto azul, spenders continuing addiction to upgrade his bike, ride reports from members from OZ, NZ, middle east and japan, and also your ride reports around metro manila including your trip to a Santa Maria bike shop to buy a removable chain link at a very cheap price . All the pictures posted by members were priceless and make you feel like a part of a bigger community and are not alone in your passion to ride a bicycle.

I can also appreciate the time and hard work you put in creating the temporary PR forum and understands your altruistic intentions in creating the forum.

More power to PR.

being anonymous

undertandable. but then again what you are giving away is just your user name in PINOY ROADIES which you will also use in SIKLISTANGPINOY. just to make it feel that we're still in PR rather than in SP or any other forum. Now that PR is back, SIKLISTANGPINOY is kept as a back-up site for all members who wish to keep the bonding together. Some members like RYAN, who uses KUMAGAKO as user name in PR used KUMAGTAYO in SP not so much of a deviation as to confused members. AL was also pretending not knowing "her". changed his gender too (RYAN). FARM_LIM of PR FARMLIM to SP.
I don't know what user name you are using in PR and what you used in SP.
The only EMIL i know in PR is ELTORRODESYDNEY. Same person?

it's all coming back to me now EMILIO7. maybe you we're the one INVISIBLE in SP whom I PMd. The one with ******@verizon.net as email add? correct me if i'm wrong sir. You were INVISIBLE and it was ONLY ME as the ADMINISTRATOR who could see you. I did not ask you to introduce yourself or give away all your personal details, nothing like that. What i wanted was to make yourself VISIBLE to EVERYONE. And everyone in there are legit members of PR, whose posts you enjoyed so much like MAKOY, SPENDER'S EHDITITIS and so many others except for JANIX and KA OKA, who did'nt even bothered to visit SP to assure their members that everything is being done to restore PR, so why be INVISIBLE?

bike shops near ortigas

Mga Kababayan,

I live in New Jersey and commute to my job in New York City. Currently, I'm staying in Ortigas and I'm looking for a cheap(banketa style) shop. My cousins let me borrow their really old bike and the bottom bracket is shaking, the spokes are all rusted and the pedals are wobbly. I would like to have the bike fixed cheaply or even pay a shop to trade up for a slightly better mountain bike.
I'm only staying here for another 2 weeks and don't really want to spend a lot of money. Especially since my relatives don't really ride bikes and mostly drive everywhere.

Salamat po sa kahit na anong tulong na maaalay ninyo,
Ernest

ortigas wala akong masyadong alam. it may be better for you to bring the bike to cartimar. i know cristy's also sells used/2nd hand stuff and they have pretty good mechs at the back. just tell them what you need and they'll give a price for labor. ask for a 2nd hand bb. its usually polite to give a little something (p20) to the mech when the job's done.

I just came back recently from the Philippines.
One of the towns I visited was Baguio, although I biked
around Manila I didn't do any cycling in Baguio. Nor did I see anybody
riding up the mountains around there. In the town itself, I saw very
few cyclists(2 to be exact).

they have a handful of groups in baguio. as far as i know, they would go around on weekends. the weekdays are work and some more work. and the crazy ones would go down from baguio then go back up. janix, one of the mods in pinoyroadies.org is from baguio. he knows more about the cyclists there than anyone else i know.

Kamusta, Pinoy biker here from the New York City area.
I'm sure there's some Pinoy Siklistas in your area, but they
may not be on BF.
