Greetings from Maryland

I got back into cycling last spring after a 10 year layoff. I rode a bike mountain bike for years. I once did Cycle Across Maryland on a mountain bike, that coupled with the fact that about 2% of my riding was actually trail riding made me promise my next bike would be light and fast.

I chose a Fuji Cross Comp since I split my rides between the North Central Rail Trail and roads. I am loving it. I only wish I could get those 10 lost years back. But I guess if I keep riding I can pick them up on the back 9.

Hello satchfan, if nothing else you will certainly feel ten years younger for getting out on the bike. It sounds as if you picked a good bike for doing both the Rail Trail and roads with the Fuji Cross Comp.

Welcome to BF!

Another new Marylander

Hello all,

I'm new here from Maryland too - I figured I would just jump in this thread to say hey... I just got my first road bike two days ago and I intend to spend a lot more time on it than I do here. I have found this site to be very useful and I wanted to thank everyone for all of the help you have given me so far, without being aware of it. BTW, if anyone wonders, I live in southern MD (Calvert county).

I moved away from Parkton (Hereford), Md. about 3-1/2 yrs ago. Wasn't a move we wanted to make! Sure do miss riding around Lake Redman/Willaims (just north of Shrewsbury Pa), and Rocky Ridge (in York). Those parks have got to have some of the best trails around. How is Patapsco fairing these days, they were closing parts of it to biking (or at least giving it a rest) when I left.
